CAT-SKIING ADVENTURE
MACEDONIA
29 MARCH - 02 april 2026
EVENT OVERVIEW
Discover one of Europe’s best-kept powder secrets. High-volume, snowcat-accessed freeride skiing in the Šar Mountains - delivering deep snow, vast terrain, and consistent lines at a fraction of the cost of heli-skiing.
Based in the Šar Mountains above Popova Šapka, this cat-skiing programme opens up approximately 32km² of varied backcountry terrain. The landscape offers a compelling mix of wide-open alpine slopes, playful tree runs, and natural freeride features, allowing groups to explore different aspects of the mountain throughout the day.
The experience strikes a balance between rewarding skiing and a relaxed, social atmosphere, making it particularly well suited to groups. Easily accessible from the UK and offering strong overall value, it presents a distinctive alternative to more established destinations - delivering an authentic mountain setting, consistent snow conditions, and a memorable, experience-led week in the backcountry.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
-
Return airport transfers between Skopje Airport and Hotel Inlier Lodge are included within your trip package. Transfer details and meeting instructions will be provided prior to departure. The journey takes approximately one hour and offers a scenic introduction to the mountains of North Macedonia.
-
Flights are not included within the package price, allowing guests the flexibility to travel from their preferred airport. We will provide recommended flights from the UK which align with the group transfer times. Current return fares are expected to be approximately £130-£200 per person.
-
Your trip will be accompanied by experienced UNIQ X hosts who will assist throughout the experience both on and off the mountain. Local mountain guides will lead all cat-skiing activities and provide expert knowledge of the terrain, snow conditions, and safety procedures.
-
Inlier attendees will be staying in the same hotel their coaches will be staying. Rooms may be shared with other team members or single rooms can be given for extra cost. This will be organised accordingly due to gender or with friends/family as requested. If you would prefer to have your own room, please specify this on the booking form.
-
All skiers participating in the trip must have in date ski accident insurance valid for the country we are operating in. It must cover for off piste skiing and heli-rescue. We also highly recommend insurance which also reimburses you for services unused due to injury or slope closure (ski pass, training, lodging, etc). We also advise to apply for the GHIC card (Global Health Insurance Card) which should give you extra cover in the EU. This is free to apply for via the NHS website.
Photocopies of insurance policy must be sent to UNIQ X management as a digital copy ahead of trip commencing.
